Dublin on a budget

Pubs, poets and Guinness, all a short hop across the sea. Here's where to stay, what to do, and how to turn it into a whole trip, without overspending.

Dublin is a two-night city that somehow always needs three. This is the practical version of a Dublin guide: where to actually stay (with live prices compared across 100+ booking sites), what's worth your time, where to go after dark, and a budget you can book today.

💡 Local tip: Skip the tourist-priced Temple Bar pint; walk to Stoneybatter for the same craic at half the cost.

The cheapest time to visit Dublin

For UK travellers, aim for late spring (May–June) and early autumn (September) for mild weather and lower prices; winter is cheapest if you don’t mind the cold. Mid-week departures (Tuesday to Thursday) almost always beat weekends on price, and setting a budget first, rather than a fixed destination, is the single biggest money-saver. You can do exactly that with our Dublin trip builder.
